Stuck on intro to my essay (the creative process effect on commercial contents)

I have to write a 2500 word essay on 'Ways in which the creative process is affected by commercial contexts' giving specific examples. I am focusing on films and how scenes or endings are changed because of public demand/reactions (example Australia: changed to happy ending where Hugh Jackman lives). I am going to compare it with I am Legend where the ending is changed to where the main character dies, but for same reason as Australia - to get better reviews and to make more money. I will also mention some other films where similar things happened, but have to relate it to Tastes and Values.
I found a good quote - "The idea of taste cannot now be separated from the idea of the consumer" from Raymond Williams that I want to use, but always get stuck on the Introductory Paragraph. Especially the first sentence. Can anyone give me some ideas for a first sentence?

The first few sentences could be something like:

Writers are creative people, but they cannot always allow their creativity to run rampant. When writing professionally, the final product is constrained by the commercial context. When making a movie, audiences, reviewers, producers, and commercial appeal play into what hits the cutting room floor and what is seen on the screen.

The most important thing is to grab the readers attention with a powerful opening, then live up to that power all the way through your essay! Eric shows a great example of getting your main ideas across without any unnecessary words, and stating your case upfront. Have fun with it!

I think we only need something simple. For example:

Art has been a necessary part in human life because it can appeal to those who love creativity and beauty.

"Hugh Jackman should have died."

There, that should get your readers' attention. I'll leave it up to you to figure out how to transition from that to your thesis at the end of your introduction. :-)

Modernization. Technology has influenced writers to conceive 'extraterrestrial' ideas, figuratively. You could look at ways Star Trek has influenced cell phones.
