Letter to a friend - a photograph of an important school occasion

ceberus 7-24  Feb 11, 09, 10:21am  #
I have no idea what to write. Would appreciate if anybody helped me on this. Here's the task:

"You recently saw a photograph of an important school occasion. You saw something in the photo which surprised or worried you. You decide to write a letter to your friend about it.

You must include the following:

-which occasion it was
-where the photo was taken
-what you saw in the photo that surprised or worried you
-why you are so concerned about this
-what you think should be done about it

Must cover all five points in detail blah blah blah"

I am literally blank on this. Just need some ideas on the 5 mentioned points to make some sort of letter out of this. I know, the topic is really lame, sorry.

No! This topic is one of the ones you can have fun with and let your personality shine through! Does it say anywhere that the story has to be true? :)

How about,...hmm,...okay, you notice in the picture (of the graduation, class trip, school dance, etc.) that your best friend was in the background holding hands with your girlfriend! Write that sneaky dude a letter! You could easily fill in all five points with that!

Or how about if you saw that your friend, who was standing right next to when the picture was taken, did not come out in the picture. You were standing there with your arm draped over nothing. Suddenly, you realize your friend is a vampire! Yikes!

I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Perhaps this is supposed to show your conscientiousness about an issue related to the school itself. If that is the case, think of what it is about the school that you think could be improved -- what policy or practice? What picture would convey that?
:)

Bear in mind that werewolves, ghosts, and various other forms of undead and demonic spirits share the vampire's habit of not showing up in pictures or mirrors. Unless your area has recently had a rash of deaths attributed to either anemia or to severe blood loss, you should avoid jumping to conclusions about the nature of your friend. That said, your friend is almost certainly a manifestation of supernatural evil that would view your knowledge of his true nature as a threat, so you probably don't want to write to that particular friend about this incident. You should probably write to some one you trust who seems unlikely to have fallen under the influence of whatever your friend actually is, preferably someone who has access to sharp, edged weapons: decapitation is an effective method of dispatching most corporeal undead (and most living things, too, for that matter), though of course it does nothing against incorporeal spirits and certain varieties of zombie.

Good luck.

Well I tried my best:

'insert date'

Dear "insert name",
How are you? Remember that school camping trip we had to "insert camp name"? I really enjoyed being there with you guys, fishing in the streams, canoeing with you guys. But that's not the reason I'm writing to you. I was just browsing through the photos from our trip and came across something unusual. The photos we took at night, of our group, contained some weird things in them. Something in the photos caught my attention. I saw some transparent figures in the photos I couldn't explain. They are almost human-like, and I think they are ghosts. Since they were taken on a high-res camera, I could zoom in on the ghostly figures, and actually make out 3 clear faces in our group photo. 2 were standing between us, and 1 was apart from the group. I'm sending the photos with this letter, so you can further investigate and give an opinion on the matter. I never really believed in supernatural beings, but this made me freak out, that how wrong I was. They may turn out to be real after all.

Well, if indeed these photos are of real ghosts, and legit, I think we should try and convince our principal of publishing them, along with an article in the school paper. The local newspapers may even be interested in buying the photos, so we could earn a handsome reward.

I just hope that those ghosts don't get mad at us for blowing their cover, because I heard that they don't like us humans interfering with whatever they do. Well, try and be safe, and see you when school, starts.

Best Regards
"insert name"

What do you guys think?

Hey, this is great! You covered all five nicely!

Good job. It meets all of the requirements listed in the assignment instructions you posted. Here are a couple of more suggestions, in addition to Kevin's:

"The photos we took at night, of our group, contained some weird things in them."

"but this made me freak out, and realize how wrong I was"
