i have to wrte an essay on myself but i dont know how to write ...will someone plz help me
For what purpose do you have to write this essay? What do you want to say about yourself?
Prewriting -- what you do before you write -- is the most important phase of writing. Identify your purpose, message, and audience; think about what that means for the tone and content of what you will write. Then brainstorm the things you want to say. Once you have a complete list of the things you want to say, you can create an outline in which you put those things in a logical order. Only after doing all of that are you ready to write. But, because you have done all of that, the actual writing will be easy.

Welcome, and do not be so modest! Try this idea-generating technique that has been passed down through the ages: talking. It might seem stupid, but it has worked well for me. Record your voice (on your computer, on a tape recorder, etc.) as you talk out loud about yourself. Start with the basics: your name, your age, where you live, where you were born, who you were born to (namely, your parents.) Then move on to what you do and what you like to do (it is funny how those two can be extremely different things!) This would include your work, your chores, your hobbies and interests, etc. After talking as suggested, you will probably think of something about yourself that you will want to convey to others. In summary: talk, then write down what you talked about. Remember that this technique is for getting ideas on paper, mind you, not necessarily for coming up with a final draft. We'll worry about that part later!

Knowing your purpose and audience is really important for this. If you are writing a personal essay for English class, you have much more leeway in what you write about yourself than you do if you are writing a university admissions essay, for instance. Likewise, you have fewer restrictions on your subject matter if you are just writing for yourself for practice than if you are writing for an English class. In general, though, it is a good idea to decide what you want to say about yourself, then think of an anecdote you could relate that would show this quality that you want to express. So, don't just write, for instance, "I'm a very shy person." Rather, describe a situation you were in in which your shyness affected you. Show, rather than tell. Depending upon the assignment, you might write the entire essay as a single narrative, or string together a series of smaller narratives to provide a broader picture of who you are. Please tell us the exact assignment instructions so that we can give you more focused advice.

You don't have to be a professional writer to give useful feedback on other people's writing. After all, most writing is not done for an audience of trained writers. As a reader, you can give your overall impression of a piece of writing, whether it interested you or not, what parts specifically you liked, what aspects particularly bored you, etc. At the very least you can point out typos and simple grammatical errors. Moreover, the best possible way to learn a craft is to teach it. In trying your best to analyze other people's writing and to articulate the reasons for your own reaction to it, you become better at writing yourself, and that's the whole purpose of this site.
As I am struggling with my poor English, I am finding it hard to critisize others' essays. I totally agree with your comment and I didnt mean to offend. This is one of the most helpful websites I have ever been and I already learnt alot from you guys.
The best writing teachers use the workshop method, where students learn from critiquing each other's work. And, as Sean said, if you don't feel confident making a criticism, you can say what you especially liked about a piece and what might make it even better.
Orlando, I believe that rule was created to provide help to others before requesting help from them. Reading from others will help you to understand better how to develop an essay base on given topic. Just write about your feeling when you read an essay. Good luck!

Yes, this is the sort of assignment that requires you to post a draft if you want meaningful feedback, as we need to know a bit about you before we can help you mold your ideas into a convincing essay.

You can start your introduction in so many ways. I will give you some suggestions from my English teacher.
1) Rhetorical question
Start with questions, and give your answers in the body paragraphs. But, you should not use questions that your readers can easily get.
2) Story, personal experience, and example
Start with stories. Tell your reader about your childhood story that has special meaning to you. Or an unique experience that changed you. Whatever related with yourself.
3) History
Explain when you were born, where, how, and etc. Start with your first birthday or before. From womb to tomb now. Haha.
4) Joke
Be careful with this one. You should make sure it is not offensive to anyone. And, of course, it needs to be humorous.
