Ershad "I am a 22-year old resident of Guwahati, India. I like reading a lot. While I like fiction the most, recently I have started reading other genres. My favorite book is David Copperfield; every time I read it, it makes me cry. My writing skills are not very good. In a bid to improve them, I joined Essay Forum. In 2009, I completed my bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and now I am thinking about taking up higher studies abroad. I am an avid football (soccer) fan."

Ana "Hei there everyone! My name is Ana and I'm from Romania. I'm currently passing in the 11th grade and English is also my third language, so I'm definitely no pro. However, I love it and I do hope I'll improve on it. I think the EF experience can bring one a lot of benefits. Aside the obvious skills you get to develop, I think the interesting community can teach you something more. To me, EF proves my pessimistic self wrong. It turns out people can actually be nice and help you. So I warmly hug everyone out here! Thank you for your effort and for your interest in improving yourselves and helping others at the same time! Cheers and see you around! :D"

Kisha "Hi, I'm Kisha. My educational background is in Psychology and Human Services. I stumbled across EssayForum.com while going through the process of writing my own admission essays. I enjoy editorial work and hope that I can be helpful in this capacity. Currently, I am pursuing additional graduate work in Psychology. I enjoy learning new things and I feel as Oliver Wendell Holmes once said, "A mind outstretched by a new idea, can never return to its original dimension."

Jiri (default) "My name is Jiri and I live in the Czech Republic. I like reading good books, writing, eating chocolate and many more things that are irrelevant here. I joined Essay Forum to enhance my English; the idea of mutual help among members seems great to me. I’ll appreciate any comments on my essays and I’ll be happy to help you with yours."

Janvi "Hi! I'm a high school senior studying in Dubai. I recently joined EF, and I think I'm already hooked on to reviewing essays. I'm not an amazing writer, but I think I have strong and sensible opinions, and will definitely be able to provide valuable inputs to those who seek help. I have already commented on and helped improve around 23 essays, and would love to be an official contributor! Thank you :-)"

"Hi! I am Dumi from Sri Lanka. I am a math graduate and also I hold an MBA in finance specialization. Although I am not a native English speaker, English is taught in our schools as the second language. I am very keen on improving my English as well as helping others who wish to learn English because I believe English is an essential life skill in today’s context. I came to know about Essay Forum while I was preparing for the TOEFL exam and thanks to the forum, I was able to secure a very good score. In my view, EF is truly a place for those who desire to go the extra mile in their efforts to improve English and it is my pleasure to contribute to this forum at my best ability."

linmark - default "The EF mission statement inspired me to make "an education-based contribution to humanity" by helping students improve their writing. Writing well is a never-ending quest and passion of mine although I am majoring in health studies and business. Regardless of field of study, writing is an essential life-skill, a compulsory discipline and I believe, the best way to communicate. My dream is to one day write a non-fiction best-seller (on health and business.)"

Kevin "EF_Kevin is an English editor-for-hire who lives in Boston, where he works part-time as a kung fu warrior (mostly crime-fighting). Kevin teaches a method of strategic writing called Step-Aside Style, and he says it is a kind of kung fu even though it really is not. Kevin just thinks kung fu is really cool. You can visit DoctorMyDocument.com if you want to buy his e-books about strategic writing, self-hypnosis, meditation practice, English language learning, study skills, and the 'psychology of language.'"

As a Member of EssayForum...

...You are Visiting the EF Contributor Page

When you come to the Forum and read someone's essay, you are using your own time to help another student improve his or her writing. Although it may take you only a few minutes to review someone's essay, your meaningful feedback will go a long way to help that person.

When you apply for a job or for college, it helps if you can list activities that reflect your aptitude for teamwork and collaboration. When you become an EssayForum Contributor, you are demonstrating enthusiasm and leadership. This is a rewarding activity that helps other students and looks great on an application.

You DO Have Something to Contribute

To become an EF Contributor, it is not necessary for you to be an expert at writing and editing. Even if you are NOT yet an expert at the written English language, you can still help students improve their writing by letting them know what effects their essays had on you. No one else has your perspective and your ideas, so no one can help in quite the same way.

Are you still learning English as an ESL student? Always remember that, as a bilingual person, you have a special understanding of language. Contributor status is not just for native speakers of English. It is for everyone!

Be a Contributor (It's very quick and easy to apply!)

All you need to do is provide some thoughtful feedback ("Peer Review") for at least 20 essays, and then send a message to us. Let us know that you are interested in becoming a contributor, and we will evaluate the feedback that you have given other students. If you consistently provide sincere advice and helpful ideas to other members, we will establish you as an EF Contributor, and your contributor status will be active for as long as you continue to review at least TEN ESSAYS EACH MONTH.

Your username will be given [Contributor] status so that:

  • EssayForum members will know that you have experience providing helpful and meaningful peer reviews.
  • You can list your role as an Essay Forum Contributor on your resume, job applications, and college applications.

We can attest to your participation by recognizing you on this Contributor Page. If you wish, you can have your school represented on this page, along with our information about how you have contributed at EssayForum. We can even include your picture!

In addition, all contributors will be able to directly communicate with moderators and other contributors within a private forum or by private mail to make sure the process of assisting others is as smooth and rewarding as possible!

Some students choose to go the extra mile in their effort - to refine an admissions essay, to master the English language, or to learn the subtleties of academic writing. Your parents and teachers should be proud of your proactive approach to learning. While others go online and seek only entertainment, you can take time to participate as an EF Contributor at EssayForum.
