Hi everyone
I'd like to know if it is possible to use a quotation from the book which i'll write about in my literature paper plus a mini subtitle of my own which sums up the main idea of it.
i found an example of it in a thesis on the net. but i wasnt sure if it can be use with the same layout in an argumentative paper.
"All plots tend to move deathward." - Death and
dying on the levels of character development,
structure, language and major themes in Don
DeLillo's White Noise and Falling Man
Also, i'd like if it possible to send me examples of literature papers because i'm not familiar with the format. i dont know if i can include an abstract in a MLA paper or not.
Thanks in advance!
looking foward to hearing from you
well i think that you can use the quotation for your research paper title.
I am not so rich in literature as to suggest you any thing regarding it... Lets look for some expert opinion...
Okay, I don't entirely understand part of this... but I'll tell you helpful things:
An abstract is standard in APA, not MLA. In a literature paper, using MLA, you can just keep the quote as part of the paragraph and put it between " " marks. Give the page number at the end. If it takes up more than 4 lines, use a block quotation.
Google this: block quotation mla example.
If it is on page 14, do this:
"All plots tend to move deathward" (Name 14) Death and dying on the levels of ...
or
DeLillo writes, "All Plots tend to move deathward" (14)
quotation from the book which i'll write about in my literature paper plus a mini subtitle of my own which sums up the main idea of it.----What do you mean here? You came up with a subtitle for the book you are citing? That is interesting... whatever you are doing, just be sure to explain it in a paragraph. Remember that writing is art and you are allowed to bend the rules. So... write freely according you your creative inclination!
:-)
if u want to use quatation u have to iclude some deatails after it with wirter and book name and page
Quote +book title ok?
Is this right? It's all italicized.
"All good things come to those who wait." -Dr Hannibal Lecter, The Silence of the Lambs.
I think it's good and you can use it well, no problem
yeah, as long as you have the quotes it should be fine
