Thousand Splendid Suns Vs The Colour Purple

I need some help brainstorming and would like some ideas on how to organize my essay. The essay will revolve around inner strength of women in both of the books. I am thinking I will be talking about how challenges give women the strength to endure and also how the women form bonds with other women (Laila and Marium, Celie and her sister) to draw inner strength. I will really appreciate it if you guys can help me out a bit with the brainstorming phase. Thanks!

Well, let me ask you this: What insight did you gain from your contemplation of these books? (an insight that you did not have until you read them) You have to try to figure out what special insight you gained and then try to express it.

Sometimes you get an insight that you really WANT to express. When that happens, you start coming up with great, creative ideas.

How about quoting some lines that inspire you? Start from there... and dig out that unique insight. :-)

Hey! I am in the process of writing my comparative essay on the books the colour purple and a thousand splendid suns. I need some similarities and differences to configure my essay. A similarity I already have is that the hardships (such as sexism) in which the female characters in both novels have endured have allowed them to gain the strength they need. PLEASE HELP! Greatly appreciated in advance.

haven't read either of these books, but i would look into such topics as Post-Feminism which looks to examine and break down the sources of what caused feminist theory. Maybe other characters or environments that surround the female characters?
