The thesis statement is tough for a compare and contrast essay, because it is hard to write a statement about both stories at once. What sentence can you write about both stories?

This is one of those threads that makes me feel like a student is just trying to use the forum to avoid having to do any reading. But you have to read what we write, here in the thread anyway! So, you can't avoid reading. You may as well read some analyses of the stories...Google this:

And then do the same for the other title. You'll be able to find some excellent analysis of each story and the two characters. Then, with some keen understanding that results from reading 3 or 4 pages of literary analysis online, I hope you'll go back and read the two stories and really enjoy them! When you read enough literature, you start to really love it.

I did read them and I advice you to read them too because it is obvious that u don't have any idea that the stories are very short, and it is just confusing to know the similarities between them. For your information, I red the stories 15 times and also I red their analysis. So do not judge on me as a student who avoid reading because you do not know anything and you shouldn't reply.
Ha ha, well you only spent enough time to write a single sentence when you started this thread. Teachers would not like it very much if we did students' homework for them. The goal here is to help people gain the necessary skills. That's why I think you should read some online articles with character analysis

When you read it, make a list of traits. Then, do the same for the other character.
All you need to do after that is see which traits they have in common.
Sometimes students feel like this stuff is harder than it is, so I want to help you see how easy it can be. Sorry I thought you had not read the stories! :-)
