I need it by tomorrow but thank you so much for replying. Here is my essay.

The Victorian Period was a time known for their beautiful classical music, classiness and their contribution in literature works. Reigned by Queen Victoria, a sophisticated woman and as well as a ruler, the era became known as the most complex era. Throughout that time, the writing field was prospering tremendously. Writers such as Charles Dickens, Thomas Hardy, Robert Browning, and Robert Louis Stevenson helped contribute to the great success. Their heart wrenching novels and captivating poetry aided the literature in that era to flourish. But those are just the positive sides of the story; the Victorians also hold dark secrets. Like today, the drug issue was also a huge problem back in that time. The over use of opium for pain and stress relief was common in England. Opium was also utilized in medical treatment and it was so regularly being misused that it leads to many tragic deaths. Stevenson, an opium and cocaine user illustrated the devastating results drug usage in his Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde novel. He was able to express his life struggle with drug through Dr. Jekyll character. Stevenson was one of many drug users back in the Victorian Period. Despite all his troubles, he was able to maintain himself and make an impact in the literature world. Robert Louis Stevenson's life experiences and drug problems in the Victorian Period helped him paint his literature career.

The Victorian era was the height for the British nation. From 1837 to 1901, the British Empire propagated intensely under the leadership of Queen Victoria. It was a time of prosperity and reform. New ideas in the medical, scientific, literature and political fields were all being established. Prominent people, such as Charles Darwin, Sigmund Feud, and Charles Lyell who lived during the Victorian time made their name by sharing their knowledge with the world. Throughout the era, with all the blooming technology, the first Great Exhibition was established. It was an international exhibition that was organized to celebrate the modern industrial technology. During the Victorian era, some great inventions were created, such as the development of photography, electric lights and railroads. The new technologies made such an impact on the world that it was known as the precursor for the modern world.

Robert Louis Stevenson, a prominent writer during the Victorian era, is the author of the famous novel, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. "Robert Louis Stevenson was born to Thomas and Margaret Isabella Balfour Stevenson in Edinburgh on 13 November 1850." ("Robert Louis Stevenson Biography" 12) He was very ill through out his life, even when he was a child. Born to a middle class family, Stevenson lives most of his life as an ordinary citizen. As a child, he was regularly exposed to literature through his family nurse. She read the bible and Victorian novels to him, as well as morbid stories. At an early age, he developed a fascination towards writing and formed his own style of writing. Stevenson entered the Edinburgh University at the age of sixteen. During that time, he did not focus on his academics but was trying to develop his writing skills. One of his considerable work from his student days was "On a New Form of Intermittent Light for Lighthouses". Even though he continued his study of law in Edinburgh, he was still working toward being a writer.

During his teenage life, Stevenson was having problems with his father. His rebellious action for not following the family profession of engineering disappointed his dad. Stevenson disappointed his father once again in two years. Their relationship worsened when Thomas Stevenson, his father, discovered that his son was an atheist. It was their worst confrontation and Stevenson was disgraced. Nevertheless, their bond gradually tightens as they reconcile through time. The conflict with his father gave him the theme that was used through his books. After graduating from the university, Stevenson started his writing career. At first, he took it upon himself to find the humor in life so he can express it through his work. He started traveling across Europe in search of inspirations for his books. Through that time, he published several works such as the "Ordered South", "Virginibus", and "An Inland Voyage"; his first full-length novel. His literature career started out slightly rough but he would soon found his balance.

In 1879, he published "Travels with a Donkey in the Cevennes", due to his sudden love struck with a mature American lady. The book consisted of a more somber tone, unlike his past works, because he had fallen in love. Unfortunately for Stevenson, his first love was very troublesome. Fanny Van de Grift Osbourne was many years his senior, she was also a married woman. Despite his obstacle, he was persisting on pursing for her love. His strong emotion toward Fanny Van de Grift Osbourne leads him to journey across the sea toward America to find her. Throughout the trip, he was fighting his tuberculosis illness and it nearly rendered him dead. But he was luckily able to unite with Fanny and end up marrying her. The rejoiced couple began traveling Europe for serenity. It was during his traveling that he wrote his famous book "Treasure Island" in 1883. It went on to become one of his most popular books.

In 1887, Stevenson went into depression after Thomas Stevenson died after a long illness. "In the spring of that year Stevenson contemplated arranging his martyrdom in Ireland, intending to die at the hands of night riders, in the theory that his death—he was by now the well-known author of the Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde —would draw attention to the injustices suffered there." ("Robert Louis Stevenson Biography" 25) He began to mourn of his father death by taking drug such as cocaine and opium. Separating himself from his friends and family; he goes into deep depression. For the next few years, his life and art were at a lowest point of his career. After a certain period, he decided to try and recover his health by sailing the world with his family. While trying to regain his strength, he finished the novel "Master of Ballantrae" in 1889 during his trip. In the same year, he realized that his health can not bear returning to his homeland, Scotland. Instead he decided to settle down in Samoa. So, he began to rediscover himself as he try to learn about his new home.

Drug has been a problem since the beginning of humanity. Throughout the evolution of our specie, each generation went through the drugs stages. So the drugs abuse during the Victorian Period was not a shock. But what was a shock to Stevenson readers was that he did not heed the lesson learned from the Opium Wars. One of the intriguing wars that took place during the Victorian Era was the Opium Wars. It occurred two years into the era, from 1839 to 1842 and 1856 to 1860. The British Nation tried to expand with the producing and mass marketing of opium. As Britain began to exploit other nations opium addiction, such as China, their own country were obtaining mass benefits. China government was corrupted with the importing of opium because many of which were under the influence and they had the power to shape how the governments respond to the opium issue. "Opium was not merely a recreational drug, it was immobilizing a notion." (Hanes and Sanello 1-2) Over the course of the century, the Chinese inducted many laws to control the problem but their so incapable of obeying it. They try to ignore the problem when they can, which resulted in their world wide humiliation. British were getting financial benefits from the war, but there was also a backlash of their action. Although Opium was not illegal in Britain at the time, British part in the Opium war increased their nation numbers of users of addict. Therefore, their nation poor decision-making process has a lot to do with all the future opium users such as Stevenson.

Stevenson drugs influence might have been for a brief moment but it surely made an impact in his life. He was fuelled by inappropriate substances for his depression and was grieving of his lost through drugs. With the lost of hope for his recovery of health, he ceased to take his prescription drugs. Over a period of time, his health became a serious problem. Cursed by his infatuation, he suffered an even deeper depression and was separating himself from others. Stevenson was well aware about the danger of opium but the death of his father with his terminal illness clouded his judgment. Not only that, he was also experiencing reoccurring dreams. The nightmares frighten him since some were related to his medical condition. As the result, his dark novel of the Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde was originated from his dark experience. The idea was about a man exposed to some mysterious chemical concoction, signifying drugs, and morphed into a wicked being. Stevenson recreated his life into that man, Dr. Jekyll. Dr. Jekyll was a man who creating a potion that allowed him transforms himself into a different person. This new person possessed powers but he was also burden with anger and wickedness. Jekyll abused his discovery by his constant usage of the drug. So his duality became unstable as he gradually loses control of his dark side. The plot reflected his lost of control in life.

Stevenson was a mess through out his life but he manages to utilize his problems and turn it into a work of art. He was cursed with illness as a boy, struggle for acceptance from his dad as a teenager, and battle through the drugs period that nearly consumed his life as a man. Inconceivably, he has the will to always harness the negative experiences and turn it into positive experiences. Robert Louis Stevenson lived through one of the most complex era and was easily made a name for himself. He withstands all the tests to become a writer and now he is undoubtedly one of the greatest writer in the Victorian time.

Good morning!

I have gone through your essay, and here are my suggestions:

"The Victorian Period was a time known for their beautiful classical music, classiness and their contribution in literature works."
Instead of using "classiness", choose a better adjective; sophistication, refinement, or elegence are all synonyms. Also, "literature works" is an awkward statement. How about "...their contributions in the literary field."?

"Reigned by Queen Victoria, a sophisticated woman and as well as a ruler, the era became known as the most complex era."
This sentence is awkward and wordy; how about clearing it up with something like "Reigned by Queen Victoria, a sophisticated woman and ruler, the era became known for its complexity.

"...contribute to the great success..."
...contribute to this great success...

"Their heart wrenching novels and captivating poetry aided the literature in that era to flourish."
"...aided in the flourishing of the literature in this era..."

"But those are just the..."
In academia we don't start sentences off with "but"; go ahead and just start this sentence with "Those", or "These"..."

"...that it leads to..."
Stay in one tense throughout a work. Instead of "leads" this should be "lead".

"in his Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde novel."
"in his novel, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde." Check your required referencing system for how to display names of texts; sometimes they are to be italicized, other times in quotation, yet others underlined, depending on your citation style.

"...Dr. Jekyll character..."
(Through the character of Dr. Jekyll; Through Dr. Jekyll's character.)

"Stevenson was one of many drug users back in the Victorian Period."
This sentence can be removed; it is redundant in that you have already explained he was an opium and cocaine user.

"...in the literature world..."
(in the literary world...)

"...drug problems in the Victorian Period helped him paint his literature career."
(Drug "usage" instead of "problems" perhaps? Also, "paint his litarary career".

"The Victorian era was the height for the British nation (What exactly does this mean? Clarify, please.) . From 1837 to 1901, the British Empire propagated intensely under the leadership of Queen Victoria. It was a time of prosperity and reform. New ideas in the medical, scientific, literature (literary) and political fields were all being established. Prominent people, such as Charles Darwin, Sigmund Feud, and Charles Lyell who lived during the Victorian time (Remove this as it is redundant) made their name (names) by sharing their knowledge with the world. Throughout the era, with all the blooming technology, the first Great Exhibition was established. It was an international exhibition that was organized to celebrate the (Remove) modern industrial technology. During the Victorian era, some great inventions were created, such as the development of (Remove) photography, electric lights and railroads. The new technologies made such an impact on the world that it was known as the precursor for the modern world."

"Robert Louis Stevenson, a prominent writer during the Victorian era,(This statement can be removed, as it is redundant.) is the author of the famous novel, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. (See my earlier suggestion regarding title citation.) "Robert Louis Stevenson was born to Thomas and Margaret Isabella Balfour Stevenson in Edinburgh on 13 November 1850. (This period needs to be moved to behind the ellipse of your in-text citation.) " ("Robert Louis Stevenson Biography" 12) He was very ill through out (This is one word, "throughout") his life, even when he was a child. Born to a middle class family, Stevenson lives (Tense! "Lived".) most of his life as an ordinary citizen. As a child, he was regularly exposed to literature through his family nurse. She read the bible and Victorian (This can be removed as it is unnecessary.) novels to him, as well as morbid stories. At an early age, he developed a fascination towards writing and formed his own style of writing. Stevenson entered the Edinburgh University at the age of sixteen. During that time, he did not focus on his academics but was trying to develop his writing skills. One of his considerable work (Change this to "works".) from his student days was "On a New Form of Intermittent Light for Lighthouses". Even though he continued his study of law in Edinburgh, he was still working toward being a writer."

"During his teenage life, Stevenson was having (Tense! Change to "had") problems with his father. His rebellious action for (Should be "of".) not following the family profession of engineering (Change to "and becoming an engineer".) disappointed his dad. Stevenson disappointed his father once again in two years. Their relationship worsened when Thomas Stevenson, his father, discovered that his son was an atheist. It was their worst confrontation and Stevenson was disgraced. Nevertheless, their bond gradually tightens (Tense! "tightened".) as they reconcile through time (This is awkward; change possibly to "reconciled as time passed.") . The conflict with his father gave him the theme that was used through his books. What theme is that? After graduating from the university, Stevenson started his writing career. At first, he took it upon himself to find the humor in life so he can (Tense! "Could".) express it through his work. He started traveling across Europe in search of inspirations (Change to "inspiration" for his books. Through that time, he published several works such as the "Ordered South", "Virginibus", and "An Inland Voyage" (See my earlier suggestion on reference citation styles.) ; his first full-length novel. His literature career started out slightly rough but he would soon found (Tense confusion: "...would soon find..." his balance."

"In 1879, he published "Travels with a Donkey in the Cevennes" (See my earlier note on reference citations.) , due to his sudden love struck with a mature American lady (This is confusing and needs to be restated for clarity. How about "...because of his immediate love for a mature American lady.") . The book consisted of a more somber tone (How about "...was written in a more somber tone.") , unlike his past works, because he had fallen in love. Unfortunately for Stevenson, his first love was very troublesome. Fanny Van de Grift Osbourne was many years his senior, (Insert "and", clarify; "...seniro, and also a married woman.") she was also a married woman. Despite his obstacle, he was persisting (Tense! "...was persistent...".) on pursing for her love. His strong emotion toward Fanny Van de Grift Osbourne leads (Tense! "lead".) him to journey across the sea toward America to find her. Throughout the trip, he was fighting (Tense! "fought") his tuberculosis illness (Remove as it is unnecessary.) and it nearly rendered him dead (This is awkward phrasing; how about just leaving it at "...and it nearly killed him...".) . But he was luckily (See my earlier note about starting sentences with "But"; begin it "Luckily...".) able to unite with Fanny and end up marrying her. The rejoiced (This is confusing; perhaps you mean "rejoined"?) couple began traveling Europe for serenity (This is also confusing; if they were traveling to find peace, then perhaps you can rephrase this to read something such as, "...in search of inner peace...".) . It was during his traveling that he wrote his famous book "Treasure Island" in 1883. It went on to become one of his most popular books."

OK, moving on:

"In 1887, Stevenson went into a depression after (Change to "when"; after is too redundant here.) Thomas Stevenson died after a long illness. "In the spring of that year Stevenson contemplated arranging his martyrdom in Ireland, intending to die at the hands of night riders, in the theory that his death—he was by now the well-known author of the Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (See my earlier note on citing titles.) —would draw attention to the injustices (What injustices? Please explain.) suffered there." ("Robert Louis Stevenson Biography" 25) He began to mourn of his father (Change to "father's" because the father possesses the death.) death by taking drug ("drugs") such as cocaine and opium. Separating himself from his friends and family ; (This semicolon is inappropriate because you are not joining two independent clauses. Instead, use a comma.) he goes into deep depression. For the next few years, his life and art were at a lowest point of his career. After a certain period, he decided to try and recover his health by sailing the world with his family. While trying to regain his strength, he finished the novel "Master of Ballantrae" (See my above note on title citation.) in 1889 during his trip. In the same year, he realized that his health can not (Tense! "could not".) bear returning to his homeland, Scotland. Instead he decided to settle down in Samoa. So (Remove this "so"; instead begin the sentence with something like, "Here he began...".) , he began to rediscover himself as he try to learn about his new home."

So far this is all I have worked out, I will post the rest shortly.

Gloria

Drug has (Tense! Change to "drugs have".) been a problem since the beginning of humanity. Throughout the evolution of our specie (Change to species.) , each generation went through the drugs stages (How about rewording to, "...experimented with drugs.") . So the (Remove) drugs (Change to "drug".) abuse during the Victorian Period was not a shock. But (Refrain from beginning sentences with "But"; choose another transition.) what was a shock to Stevenson (Change to "Stevenson's".) readers was that he did not heed the lesson learned from the Opium Wars. One of the intriguing wars that took place during the Victorian Era was the Opium Wars (Is this one single war, or a series? If it was just one battle, like the "War on Terror" then it needs to be "the Opium War." . It occurred two years into the era (This needs to be clarified; you start out saying that it started "two years into" the era, but then give intermittent years. Either only give the specific years or say something like "...happened during the years from 1839 to 1860.") , from 1839 to 1842 and 1856 to 1860. The British Nation tried to expand with (Remove) the producing and mass marketing of opium. As Britain began to exploit other nations (The nation possesses the addiction, so the proper apostrophe usage is "nation's".) opium addiction (Change to "addictions".) , such as China, their own country were obtaining mass benefits. (I'm not really sure if China is relevant to the British Victorian Era; this seems to meander off of your main point, and is distracting.) British were (Change to "Britain was".) getting financial benefits from the war, but there was also a backlash of their action (Change to "actions".) . Although Opium was not illegal in Britain at the time, British part in the Opium war(How about cleaning up to something like, "...Britain's role in the Opium War...".) increased their nation (The nation owns the number of users, therefore the appropriate apostrophe usage is "...increased their nation's number of Opium addicts.") numbers of users of addict . Therefore, their nation (The nation owns the decision making process, making the appropriate apostrophe usage "nation's".) poor decision-making process has a lot to do with all the future opium users such as Stevenson.

" Stevenson ("Stevenson's") drugs ("drug") influence might have been for a brief moment but it surely made an impact in his life. He was fuelled by inappropriate substances for his depression and was grieving of (Remove) his lost ("loss") through drugs. With the lost ("loss") of hope for his recovery of health (Change to "...loss of hope for improved health...") , he ceased to take his prescription drugs. Over a period of time, his health became a serious problem. Cursed by his infatuation (Infatuation over what? I'm lost here.) , he suffered an even deeper depression and was separating himself from others. Stevenson was well aware about the danger of opium but the death of his father with his terminal illness clouded his judgment. Not only that, he was also experiencing reoccurring dreams. The nightmares frighten ("frightened") him since some were related to his medical condition. As the result, his dark novel of (Remove) the Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (Check for proper title citation method.) was (Remove this "was".) originated from his dark experience. The idea was about a man exposed to some mysterious chemical concoction, signifying drugs, and morphed insert "him" into a wicked being. Stevenson recreated his life into that man, Dr. Jekyll. Dr. Jekyll was a man who creating a potion that allowed him transforms himself into a different person. (This sentence can be removed due to redundancy.) This new person possessed powers but he was also burden (Change to "burdened") with anger and wickedness. Jekyll abused his discovery by his constant usage of the drug. So his duality became unstable as he gradually loses control of his dark side. The plot reflected his (Which "his"? Stevenson's? Dr. Jekyll's? Please specify.) lost (Change to "loss".) of control in life."

I will have the last part to you shortly.

Stevenson was a mess through out (One word-"throughout" his life but he manages (Tense! "managed".) to utilize his problems and turn it ("them") into a work of art. He was cursed with illness as a boy, struggle ("struggled") for acceptance from his dad as a teenager, and battle ("battled") through the drugs period (Change to something like "drug abuse") that nearly consumed his life as a man. Inconceivably, he has (Tense! "had") the will to always harness the negative experiences and turn it ("them") into positive experiences. Robert Louis Stevenson lived through one of the most complex era ("eras") and was easily made a name for himself. (He did? There doesn't seem to be anything "easy" about his life from your essay; perhaps you should think of another point to emphasis upon your conclusion, because this one does not seem very accurate. He withstands (Tense! "withstood") all the tests to become a writer and now he is undoubtedly one of the greatest writer in ("writer's of") the Victorian time.

Best of luck!
