Greetings!
Yes, it does sound as if you haven't quite focused in as narrowly as you need to. I think you had a typo, so I don't quite understand the exact question you are asking; you wrote: is is corporate carnivalesque? So, first of all, corporate what? America? I do think it sounds like you need to establish where carnivalesque may be seen as taking place; you could talk about competing ideas on the answer to that, if your research supports this. I'm always in favor of anything about South Park! :-) (the word subversive does spring to mind ...)
Sometimes, when you read a lot on a topic, it's easy to become confused. Maybe you should set aside what you've read for the moment and just focus on the carnivalesque of modern life, before tying it in to the writings of others.
I hope this helps!

my essay question is where would i characterize the carnivalesque in everyday life? it is a masters question so I would need others arguments to back mine up. im going to write about popular culture, binge drinking, subcultures such as football fans, demonstrations, carnivals, techno music. I have no examples of mime, but laughter satire i guess, stand up comedy rory bremner

Greetings!
Although it is a very specific topic with which I have limited familiarity, it sounds to me as if your ideas for modern carnivalesque are right on target. You don't sound as "lost" today as yesterday, so I hope things are starting to come together for you a little better! If you need any help with editing suggestions once you start writing, I'm happy to help.
Thanks,
